recent drunken madness

Yes... when im not working in a pub im at another pub usualy whilst my boyfriend works behind the bar (known sometimes to be time together due to him having 2 jobs "work a holic"). between costomers and bits and bobs behind and around the bar he pears over to see what little me is upto. So does the land lady And the locals. my latest creation i have managed to save from drunks that like collecting the insight of my sanity. (a few have been pinched even before i have finnished them) each one takes about 3 hours on average to do. well.. need an outlet.

Clever Crafty Kaiy

What to say... Other than Kaiy had a brain wave, and yes, it hurt.

Blame my friends for loving my doodles so much. They gave me the idea....

there is no way to explain it, other than to say. My tribal and doodle work are based on key ingredients, Moko tattoo from Newzealand, Indian Henna, the arts and crafts movement and Celtic art. Main artists would have to be Archibald knox, Julia Ashby Smyth, Nicola Dixon (all local artists) William Morris... Amongst some others.

I combine the details and basics and manipulate them.... take a basic celtic knot and distort the shape, make it vine like, add floral patterns and generaly have fun... after all they are doodles...

Recently though, I have decided i might have a go at a mini production of Cards... aswell as the usual floral design, It struck me. Xmas is coming. what about....... adding tinsle? baubles? xmas trees? things like that......

kitty cats chasing mice?....

What about...... spider webs? bats creeeeepy craaaawwwwlies.. birdies and things?

i then made a simple design with cats for dad... he loves cats the cover says "laa Ruggyree Sonney Dyht" which from manx into english is HAPPY BIRTHDAY...hehehe

38 days till mum goes off to get MARRIED .....

..... and I havn't seen her for nearly 2 weeks. "Yes mum i still love you." But i do have a valaid excuse.

*
I started my new job as a barmaid (part time), and I now have a second job lined up (in a COFFEE SHOP). Saturday will be my day of truth to see if they want my services (my training day for 3 hours).

*
On top of that my friend has given the all clear that she and her family hahave their new home and will be moving in in the next month, that I am welcome as a lodger. "lucky you mum im moving out of yours and dads places." I am still thinking about it and do not have to make any final thoughts on it just yet.

*
I have taken to myself to start rumaging through my stuff, so when I do move out I am alittle more organised. Rumaging through old art folders and boxes I have kept under my bed with Pieces and memories i havn't seen for near 4 years.
Including this fantastic memory.

(far right hand side on front row. I am leaning on my class mate Tasha)

Yes, there is a story behind this picture that has now been added to my BOOK (journal/scrap/ scribble).

The first few weeks of my second year at college, our first week that we were not OUT AND ABOUT for primary research. We were in our first lesson for Graphics (computer based lessons) and we were full of mischief and the giggles.

Our tutor poped out for a few minutes and so we were set to work on a mini project to show when he got back. We were given sticky lables, orriginaly to place our names on our person so tutors could tell who was who, but we had a better idea.

We each drew a pair of lips on our stickers and carried on with our work. A small note was passed through the class once the tutor had come back "place lips. Soon as Andy talks, TURN ROUND" and sure enough, our tutuor speaks and behold, we managed to freak our tutor out!!!

He loved it that much, he piled us into the photographic studio to photograph our team work and by the next week he had the original copy blown to A3 size and on the "Messege board of insperation".

Grattitudes:

New job will be a new view on life

possibility of moving a step closer to indipendance

step mum gives me an idea for the future

MAD but very good memories that are able to be kept in a book

I LOVE MY FAMILY even if i dont show it much

CHILDREN!! AVERT EYES.!!

Please do... Here is a drawing of a tattoo design i have recently doodled....

as you see i am still working on the female body but i did sketch her from one of royo's pieces and manipulating the body to more realistic proportions (theres no way r my boobs as perfect as royos dream girls). at least i can sort of copyright my work now.

Sorry guys

Im sorry for any madness of not having any photos/ pictures recently. My Photo shop doesnt seem to want to let me copyright my owrk. it is making me angry because i have so much to show. i will have to somehow try to find another way to do this..... maybe Paint will let me.

job hunting...

Still nothing.... but some say, every 14 applications you usualy get 1 or 2 interviews... so maybe i will get one in the next week or 2 (ive recently applied for job 14/ 15). On the whole.. not much to say.. not much to report. i need to take pictures of my doodles again though to keep you up to date... maybe when i go back to mum's this evening i will get a good chance to.

Saturday 25 July 2009

.... so what happens when im in a tidy mood...

(pictures are being sorted).Soon as i get up I manage somehow to gather my thoughts, get dressed and decide I'm going to give my room a good turf out..... "Wonder where that went...." "oh flip, not seen that in a yr and a half......" "hahaha I'M NEVER WEARING THAT AGAIN".......so far.... (between 10am and 5pm) I've managed to go through allllll the art and craft accumulation around and on my desk. Ive also had a good root through the wardrobe found my knitting in the bottom at the very back "hahaha still got good taste in choosing wool colour".... i still need to tackle my chest of draws... there is stuff in there i hadn't touched since mum and i moved in to this flat.... and getting rid of stuff makes me feel i can start again... well at least makes room for something better..
I'm going to steal mum's idea of gratitude... its cool... also shows the good things happening even if the rest seems like mayhem....

GRATITUDE:

1) 3 cheers for mum supporting me.. and taking me for a break form the mayhem known as my room to mooch about in town. Always up for an idea hunt.
2) thank coffee... don't know where I would be without you.
3) 3 cheers for Ben for putting up with me. (4 days till he goes home to Yovil)

Sunday 19 July 2009

not drunk but still going....

Thought I would bring you up to date......

This is a picture jus for my mate.... as a good bye present. He is leaving the rock (the isle of man) I live on for good. well when I say leave for good, I mean he will hopefully come visit Manx shores again in the future. I know he will read this. Like i know he will keep an eye on this blog as part of a thread back to the island.

HERES TO YOU BEN!!!! anyways back to showing how far ive got....

Detail is the key to my work every tiny paintbrush mark counts.

tdah!!!!!!!

Drunken madness 2

No the green piece was not the only piece i did last night...(which was only A4 sized). I created at least 3/4 of what is there on this piece so far too...(A1 sized)

i remember taking at least 2 of the pictures... but after a while its a blur..

I remember this picture being taken too...

I don't remember taking this photograph.. but it is what i found on the back of my door this morning and on a ledge near by it my paints and paint water just itching to be picked up again..

So.. yes i took myself back to sitting behind my bedroom door to paint. in somthing other than just parissian blue. (heres the close up of how far i got.

Drunken madness.

What's better than staying home, looking after a 13 yr old brither and having a few to drink with no mum to tell you to turn your music down? (no offence mum). Especialy when you are not one to like going out much.
I know.... PAINT with a few to drink whilst dancing around bedroom looking like a mad nut to loud music because mum isnt home to tell me to "turn that racket down" whilst 13 yr old brother is happily playing on PS3 in TV room.

It started alittle like this...

It got slightly bigger....

And before i know it.. i dont want to touch it incase i rewin it...

my recent madness...

Apart from looking for work... attempting to re write a new cv and birthday craziness that has now calmed down.. ive continued to sneak in abit of me in there.
Spent alot of time with my best friend Eva(in the black jacket... oh and tasha in the carki). When nither of us are too busy one has been at the other's house or out and about on random wanderings or been at kareokee on wednesday nights after drama club.

Yes kareokee. Eva demands i gain alittle confidence by singing. surprisingly was given £21 for singing LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD by PAT BENATAR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sz11IAOIjD4&feature=related (a short version) for someone who was born at the end of the 80s i have a passion for alot of 80s music and style. NO I HAVN'T ANY VIDEO FOOTAGE. i refuse a camera to be near me when singing.

other than that... i like doodling wherever i am at the moment. leaving them behind not forgetting to sign and date them and on the bak leaving a note of where i was and that whoever finds it can keep it. Though ocasionaly remembering to take a photograph of it.

Oh yes mums JOINT PROJECT mum has been wanting to do alittle somthing together... but when we are together we are both too tired... so we are just doing our project seperatly but together.
Here's how far ive got so far.....

Monday 6 July 2009

A sad week in the life if me..

I failed my college course, what was originally a 6 week trial turned into 5 long years. Yes I feel like I am a failure. Yes I am devastated. No, it isn’t going to stop me from working on my art and continuing it as a hobby. At least for a while, Just to see how I do.
Mum and I spent Friday and Saturday evening talking about the 5 years rummaging through a good bulk of 7 years of GCSE (school) and College Work and yes I had fun ripping and folding large pieces of unwanted rubbish into the bin, Mum picked a few for me to work on and finish off just for her collection. In a whole. What started from 1 A1 folder, 2 A2 folders and a large box that has been kept flat’s worth I now only have the A1 folder and 1/3 of the box full. Next time I am at mum’s I will bring my small A3 folder and the last A2 folder (which is only half full) and sort them out. I also need to sort through my ceramics and my pretty boxes. I only want to keep my best ones.
Other than that, in less than a week I will be the BIG 21. And of course, I am wanted from all angles to celebrate... me being the oldest out of my close friends, they want me to go out for a few to the point that I do not remember it. No idea what dad wants. And mum...????? she is working and we are still trying to find the best way round her shifts and other manic plans.... What i might do is wait till Sunday afternoon (my birthday) when I have sobered up a little and spend a couple of days at mums during the week instead of the weeknd.
Well I have no pictures to show you just yet, you might just have to wait till I manage to get hold of my card reader for my camera. That and have my Adobe Photoshop put back on my computer.
Good night all.

MUM.. can i go say hello to Cinderella???

Its happened again... i knew i wouldn't get out of not wearing the Carlotta dress again... Oh well at least the kids were happy to see a princess in an Edwardian dress on the street... so far roughly The Manx National Youth Theatre has managed to raise around £1600 within about a week usualy around three or four buskers on race week (hardly anyone in town because they are watching BIKES) on the isle of man.

Thursday (today) was a non race day, busy time in town and the Theatre had Upto around 6 fully dressed buskers a kareokee machiene and The "gaffa" (team leader) on her duty telling us standing and looking gorgeous is her job... It is.. oh well.. we have fun.. (will continue to take pictures...)....enjoy the pictures.

Ok who has my bum?? who is behind me? aggghh LEONIE i can't breath.. I dont remember the bushy's sticker.

"ooo look at the pretty princess" the mothers kneel down to give their own little princesses a few pennies to put in my bucket and get to shake my hand and say hello... cute.. i think..

old work

I have found a few bits and bobs form last year. Thought you might like to see them.

This is a full exposure of Wonderful land by Mike Oldfield. one of the best pieces i have made through my synaesthesia.

a full exposure of Overburdened by Disturbed a metal band... yes pretty

a full exposure of Ruska by Apocalyptica (4 cellos)

this is about 5 seconds exposure of the introduction of I : Scintilla's song Taken
Its an impact in both the music itself aswell as the imact in my synaesthesia.

Enjoy

Friday 29 May 2009

WOOOOOT

ok... so I've been down in the dumps... Writing forever as it seems essay work has been center of attention.... mostly because i felt i had lost my "artistic mojo" the project i had been doing for 3 weeks, went to pot.
But it seems KAIY is back and again wowing fello students on bright colours and explinations of how she sees the world as a synaesthesic.... Yes im still trying to explain but the girls in my class seem to enjoy the colours and patterns i tare from my sight in a combonation of exposures alittle like a photograph..but my synaesthesia not a photo of a pretty view.... You might enjoy... I will explain what is happening in each one don't you worry...

Ok, big blue flash.. This is only 2/3 of the whole painting. But as a whole the image is a 20 second exposure of lighning crashing. yes you read it right. In an instromental piece By Evanescence called eternal is a section purely on rain and lightning. rain is a sort of blue with a tinge of green and then lightning is a big bright blue sort of forcing its way out. (from the 3 minute mark to 3 minutes 20 seconds on, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtVka-Nvwn4 )

This pretty star is a 5 second exposure from Will You? By L'ame Immortelle at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bj6Nl1a-Vak 3 minutes 30 seconds to 3 minutes 35 seconds.

they have cut the first part off theres supposed to be another 8 counts before hand but here on here just behore the voices kick in 2 times over is what you have in this image... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuhDDx49TTw

Sunday 17 May 2009

So... CTRL,ALT,DEL (control alt delete) the show is DONE.

The madness of our Show is done. Just the shakespeare in London SO KEEP AN EYE OUT all you Londoners around the London eye area for THE MANX NATIONAL YOUTH THEATRE..... WOOOOOT...
ok the horrible bit Photo evidence of the wigs and dress code for "THE PHAAAAANTOM OF THE OPERA is there.... Inside My mind"..... Yes i sung but no not that song... was an ultimate of 30 seconds.. my part was as CARLOTTA the PRIMADONNA DIVA...

oh and THANKYOU to Fiona and friend for the costumes (the blue dress was especialy made in my size because i'm a skinny runt)

Saturday 2 May 2009

AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH.....

A show!!! My second performance in the only theatre/ opera house my rock has... YES. im getting nervous. Only 2 weeks to go and i have at least 4 wigs to make. out of paper hopefully BEFORE technical and dress rehersals. THAT leaves me 6 days. and on top of this, I have college work.. so "no preassure"...
Luckily for me. 1 wig finnished. The biggest wig. THE ONE I AM WEARING as Carlotta from Phantom of the opera. This is a veriety show. so only have to wear it for a scene twice. YEY...

Friday 10 April 2009

BACK to the BOOK

look how thik my book has got now!!!! getting bigger. might need to re cover the binding.

What started out as me painting out some bits i didn't want in white then playing with colour after deciding to give up writing for the day.

this frame was a card which had a daisy in it. i found a sticker of a butterly in black and white then decided to go alittle crazy with colour.... whats new there then???

rooting through old work.

these little cuties were from a project i did at college a couple of years ago now... just showing my view of synaesthesia with a twist of threads and layering of marbeling.

this one is the best of all of them. my tutors loved the boxes because they are so quirky and showing my personality in my own mad little way.

a pentagon representation, as an experiment with a sequin flower in there somewhere.

and yet another one all together there were around 10 or 11 of them.

Monday 23 March 2009

A close call at some detail work on water colour dragon eye.

pencil line eye.

another preview of my book

Amongst my usual mutterings and rambelings i have been known to play with bright colourd paints, a bunch of gel pens and metallic pencils. oh dear, I'm starting to sound like a mad professer.

Sunday 22 March 2009

WALLPAPER!!!!.. i decide to go alittle mad with some wall paper in my book. the people who have seen it think it is awsom. i just think its a squiggle on a piece of wall paper.

The work station. This time at the dining room table.

A mad doodle i based on KANDINSKY ( http://www.arthistory.cc/auth/kandinsk/index.htm )

along side synaesthesia

Along side My random pages and doodles of my every day life i keep a diary... Its written in code... ive played around with it to suit me. and as time goes on i add bits of envelopes doodles stickers marbling wall paper stitching and other little quirky ideas into the book. Some could say it s a Waste of time.. Some say it is a work of art. Shall we have a look?

This is before I started to experiment with the book. As i wrote i had a box full of wax crayons pencils and felts, I doodled as i wrote. as you can see some times I don't write much. and other times i write forever. Depending on my mood and how much of a creative string I am having.

Kiddies, AVERT YOUR EYES.... *giggles* just a little something I did when bord one lunch time at college having a break from my essay writing.

The Koi Karp. A sign of Good luck. It isn't the best attempt i have at these pretty fish. But like the others it has roughly 5 or 6 layers of paint just on the scales.

Saturday 21 February 2009

3 more album pieces.....
